The Dutch band Le Dimanche creates cinematic music, with hints of postrock, jazz and triphop. From beautiful landscapes and dreamy nocturnes upto pitchblack moods with more heavy sounds. The band themselves cites The Cinematic Orchestra, Radiohead, Jaga Jazzist, Oceansize and Massive Attack as important influences.

On their debutalbum Colour of Shade Le Dimanche takes you on a trip into a wide array of cinematic scenes and emotions. The album was recorded, mixed and produced by the band itself. Remarkable is the role of guitarist and vocalist Marjolein Kooijman, also known as the bassplayer of The Gathering.

Colour of Shade has been released under a Creative Commons license to stimulate creative use of the music. Le Dimanche likes to invite filmmakers, animationheroes and VJ’s to cooperate for their gigs to combine different artforms will be combined: art, film and music.

Live Le Dimanche is an audio-visual surprise full of film, music, VJ’s and DJ’s. On the releaseparty the five bandmembers were backed-up by a live strings and brass as well as beautiful videoprojections by VJ Martijn Bos.
